Get the ball rolling...

I had my first viewing this morning. In Lambeth, Zone 1 :) Gary, who picked me up and showed me around, was very nice. I guess he's about 35 to 40 years old. His hair is already greyish.. I liked the flat :) It's not very big and there is no living room, but it's very cosy. However, approximately 400 pounds for a small room in a small flat without living room.. But I think that's okay for Zone 1. The problem is, I could move in on the 1st of November... I'll have two other viewings in Poplar tonight, they're cheaper and could move in sooner. I'll see..

After the viewing, I had lunch in an English Breakfast... Café? Haha, I don't know how it was called.. But I had a cheese omelette with chips. I was full after eating half of it and I paid only 3,70 pounds :) Last night I realized I'm more German than I thought I was.. I bought German bread and Dutch Cheese for dinner!

I bought the Loot this morning (it's only published three times a week, that's why I couldn't find it yesterday..) and called about 10 people.. Either the room was more expensive than advertised or nobody picked up the phone or hung up on me or the people on the phone were really hard to understand cuz they were from Nigeria. I'm no racist, I'm a foreigner here myself, but I'd rather live with English people (or someone else with English as a mother tongue) than with people whose English is worse than mine cuz I am here to improve my English. At least one English person as a flatmate would be desirable..

So I went back to the hostel and I was reading in the book I just bought.. Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere.
It's about Richard, a bloke who has just moved to London, and about people who fell through the cracks ("Mind the gap, please!")... I have only read the first chapter so far, can't really tell much, but I like what I've read :)

Now I go flathunting online again as I'm back in the hostel's coffee shop.

Greetings from autumnal London :)
