I'm finally here!!! :)

Yay, Miriam's blogging in English for the first time... Cuz Miriam is in LONDON now :)

After my little farewell-party on Friday and the stressful packing - and even worse: unpacking - on Sunday, I finally arrived in the UK yesterday. My mum and my brother brought me to the airport in Cologne which made me very happy :)

On the plane, Anna and me couldn't see much cuz it was very cloudy.. That's why I haven't taken any photos of the flight. But we survived and my ears weren't aching ;)

We were extremely tired when we arrived in London.. I hadn't been sleeping for more than 24 hours then. And my luggage was more than 40 kilos in the end (but I didn't have to pay for the few kilos overweight, yaaay!).. But I put my bags into a shed by the hostel before we brought Anna's luggage to her boss's house in Southall. We were almost there at about 11.30am when she texted her that we can't come before 3.30pm. Great! We didn't know where else to put her luggage and so we were just hanging out in Ealing Broadway, eating at Subway's and having a drink in a pub. Southall is not a nice area by the way.. Her boss's daughter was supposed to pick us up at the bus stop... but she never appeared! So we were looking for the house ourselves. What we found was different than expected... But well.. At least Anna has a place to stay until she's found something else. So we went back to Camden (where my hostel is.. YAY) to get some groceries and look for rooms on the internet.

I'm staying in an all female 12 bed dorm.. Haven't really met any of the other girls. I've seen a few but I was in bed early, hiding behind the curtains around my bed and listening to them secretly ;) I think almost all of my roommates are English, one is American and one is French. The French girl is sleeping in the bed below me and she was coughing all the time so my bed was shaking.. But I slept okay. I think they are still asleep cuz everything was dark and quiet when I left the room. I didn't even dare to blow-dry my hair after I took a shower...

In the room where I had breakfast were almost only Germans... I think, they are on a holiday with their school. I even asked some German boys whether I could sit down next to them in English cuz I didn't know they were Germans. Haha..

Now I'm in the lounge looking for rooms and just chilling a bit, writing this blog etc. The German pupils have just been told how to behave in England by their teacher.. It was funny to listen :)

Okay, my plans for today are getting my UK SIM card from BritBound, buying the train ticket to Manchester for Thursday, hopefully viewing some rooms and.. I don't know yet.. I'll see :) Ah, and meeting Anna at 12.

I hope, I'll get the times right cuz this morning I was confused.. My alarm told me it was 8am but my mobile phone displayed 7am.. Only one hour time difference but already confused, haha...
